SO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? Whether it’s a casual enquiry or an actual application, phone the number above, email the secretary or just call in and see for yourself how friendly we are. Very soon you could be enjoying the fresh air, the exercise, the wildlife, the scenery, the banter and of course, the great game itself! |

“I’d love to join, but I haven’t got a handicap and I don’t want to show myself up!” Whilst our course is a challenge to the more accomplished player, it’s still a pleasure to play for the less experienced. Also our Pro is used to coaxing beginners through that tricky initial period—if you don’t have a handicap, you soon will have!
“I’m no spring chicken — is it easy to get around?” You don’t have to be a mountaineer to play our course. We allow electric trolleys and sit-on buggies, even in Winter. And there are places to start and finish other than the 1st and 18th ! If you’re the competitive type, we have a thriving Seniors section to keep you on your toes!
“I’m a keen golfer already. What will MGC offer me?”
Mid-week and weekend competitions plus knock-outs, Winter League etc offer that extra challenge - there are plenty of chances to get your name on the board! We have our fair share of category 1 low-handicap golfers, so you’re in good company.
“But I don’t know any other members — how will I get a proposer?” Don’t worry. You don’t necessarily need a proposer and seconder. An existing member will get you into the swing of things and introduce you to other newcomers too. Just make that call and leave it to us to do all the arrangements!
“How will I get involved once I join?” Another great plus for MGC is that you can enter comps by simply phoning the Pro who’ll pair you up with a different playing partner every time if you wish. Also we have more than one weekly ‘roll-up’ group where you can just turn up and join in. Before long you’ll know just about everybody! As a new member we’ll make sure you get integrated as quickly as possible.
